Magazine Spotlight: TWIN

TWIN Magazine launched in London last November. It is a new magazine from Rebecca Smith, former creative director of Lula (I posted on Lula mag earlier)- click, hereTwin is a bi-monthly issue and is a hardback so it's actually more of a "book" than a magazine. Looooove it. The shoots are incredible and I am officially obsessed. The one below was photographed by Jermaine Francis modeled by DJ/singer Alicat. With only two issues published, their limited editions are already sold out, but you can buy the regular magazine for $19 dollars here: www.twinfactory.co.uk --Ha, this is obviously not a magazine you find at your local Barnes and Noble. Nope, for the good ones ya gotta search high and low, but it's worth it!

This dress murders me...

Love the one eye and the two little Miu Miu cats popping out.

Simple and clean. I like.

Website Spotlight: WOMEN.FASHIONBEANS.COM

FASHIONBEANS is in a way, the UK's "Who What Wear". It is a fashion blog that covers collections, fashion trends, health and beauty tips, lookbooks, and shopping recommendations. They even have a column for coupon codes for sites all over the UK (super fab). The site is fairly extensive and quite impressive! I went through and gathered a bunch of cute looks for summer. Playsuits, dresses, shorts... ya know, the basics... all for under $150, which is awesome for those "brokey months". Take a peek.

JIN-JA Lace Petal Dress. I want to wear this with my new Allesandro Dell' Acqua pumps I got for my birthday from my Mom!

Fairground Denim Playsuit (Lize would kill this). A total cute summer throw on with a big straw sunhat, massive vintage Dior shades, and Lanvin flats.

Mango by Lee Jean Youn Paper Bag Shorts. I love these shorts. Hate the top. I'd like to pair it with the creme Rachel Comey crop tank and the Lanvin peach pom pom floral sandals we posted earlier.

Potluck and Walsh Angled Dress. Great for brunches with girlfriends or family dinner nights. A good sweet girl look!

Sugarhill Heart Shorts. Darling. Enough said. I could pair these with ANYTHING. Although, I tend to lean toward pairing high waisted shorts with unitards because it's flattering and makes the waist area look less bulky.

Ted Baker Linen Shorts. I guess I'm feeling kind of preppy with this choice, but these are good for running errands and shopping. They could also be paired with a shredded Obesity and Speed or Raquel Allegra top to be more punky at night.

TFNC Lace Crossover Playsuit. I would love this romper with pumps or beat up boots, loads of jewelry, and my hair up in a wild curly top knot with a crazy headband.

Mango Lace Layered Dress. A very pretty dress. I was wondering if the lace would look cheap for the price, but the quality actually looks great! I definitely want to grab this! It would be very dressy for dinner parties with nice pumps. I would also pair this dress with black ripped tights and boots or high tops and a cropped leather jacket... That way I could carry this look year round.

Designer Spotlight: Markus Lupfer

Born in Germany, Markus moved to England at age 15 to attend the prestigious Westminster University to study fashion. Upon finishing his studies, his collection became so successful that it was immediately picked up by Koh Samui in Thailand. At the ripe age of 17, he launched his eponymous brand in 1998. Updating and reconstructing womenswear basics, he became well known almost immediately with the help of huge fans such as Jade Jagger, Gwen Stefani, and Madonna. After bonding with his amazing pieces yesterday at Opening Ceremony, I wanted to share some Markus Lupfer love with all of you. Happy Saturday!

Fashion in France

So this past week, it has literally been a parade of designer fashion in Cannes, France for the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. All of our favorite fashionistas are out there partying it up in their best duds... and of course they all look incredible. Here are my favorite looks. XO, Liza

Rachel Bilson in vintage- LOVE this outfit so so much, but her... not so much. I dunno... she hasn't been in anything since "The OC", so I am trying to figure out why she is always at ALL the events. Hmm... oh well. She looks good.

Michelle Williams in Sonia Rykiel- Love Sonia and love Michelle! This dress is fab, as well as the Ferragamo pumps. Adorable.

Kirsten Dunst in Chanel- So beautiful! I love Kirsten's style, whether she's in an elegant dress like this or just a sundress and moccasins during the day.

Vanessa Paradis- Is this dress incredible or what? Love her. She is so stunning.

Diane Kruger in Chanel- Can never go wrong in Chanel! I loooove her hair too. Just a tad of sparkle is perfect.

Camilla Belle in Gucci- At first, I was unsure if I liked this, but I think I've decided I do! Simple, yet beautiful and sleek.

Item of the Day: Alexander Wang Brady Football Clutch

I am dead. on. the. floor. drooling and so is my mother. This bag is the cutest thing I have seen in a while. A perfect day to night clutch. Ugh, there are not enough words to describe the perfection! Hmm... I am calling Barney's to see if they have it yet. It's priced at $395. That is kind of doable for Wang, right? Maybe I could share it with my mom? Gah! K, I'm gonna go run around town in search for my new football! Pray for a TOUCHDOWN!!

The stitching is so darling!

Have always loved that design on the back from the Rocco bag.

Outfit Post: Wine and Dine

Wednesday night. What to do. Hmmm... well now that school is out and the job hunt begins, I can only enjoy the beautiful nights that are to come! Angel made me dinner, followed by a few drinks at a bar... only to come across our favorite bottle of wine at Fox and Obel. Sounds like a perfect night to me! XO, Liza

Items of the Day: Pamela Love Rings

So everyday I must do my daily check of Shopbop, one of my favorite sites to shop on. There are always tons of things I want on there... now these Pamela Love rings are added to my never ending list unfortunately. The first one, the Double Snake Ring, is amaaaazing. I love double rings AND I love snakes. Score. The second one, the Peacock Ring, has tiny emeralds in it, as well as a flowered textured band. Adore these rings, but the prices are pretty steep... over $300 each. Yikes. I guess I'll wait until these go on sale... as if that will ever happen. XO, Liza

Magazine Spotlight: LULA

Ok, so Lula magazine only comes out TWICE A YEAR. Insane I know, but oh so worth it. Based in London and just a baby with only ten magazines published, at $16 bucks a pop you get to flip through a thick beautiful glossy ad-free magazine FILLED with nothing but amazingly shot and styled shoots. For me, it's totally worth it because I collect them. I know some people are getting really into the online magazines (webazines), but I am never not going to love having my coffee in the morning and sitting out on my porch with a new obscure European mag on my lap... it's like instant serenity. Anyways, here is a look at one of Lula's fabulous shoots from their 6th magazine published. Still very under the radar, Lula is almost impossible to get your hands on. Most fashionistas order the magazine on Amazon and get this, it takes six months to get to you? How's that for in demand! That's one heck of a magazine. Here are some shots to peek at for now.

These tights are great. Very 60's mod/Twiggy.

I like her intense expression.

Gorgeous!

Silly.

I want that on my head. I might go pick my neighbors flowers and make one. Haha!

Polka-Dots... Polka-Dots...

This girl is such a goon... I kind of adore her!
