Jewls Review of Chanel Resort 12' Collection

Gah! What a nutty couple days for Blogger, right?! Such a pain with all of our posts popping up and down? Being able to sign in and then not? Let's hope that the server stays normal for us, yah? Or else we can all go on strike and get Tumblrs...... Wait, we already have one. ;) HA!  Lize and I have to admit though... It has been fantastic to have a place to archive all of our random edgier and artsy photos that we love!  Onward and outward. Fingers crossed, Blogspot. As Tim Gunn would say, "Make it work!"

This past Monday, Karl Lagerfeld showed his Resort 2012 collection in Antibes, France. Drawing a smaller crowd this year, just a few our favorite little starlets showed up for the dinner hosted by Karl himself the night before and the fashion show itself. The bathing suits and floor length dresses this season really caught my eye.  I just had to review it and do a post to show you all my favorites!  Happy Friday babies!

X. Jewls

This bathing suit is so Gidget! I am obsessed! The jacket is just magical. I love the whole thing!
Ok, this is my favorite dress out of the whole collection! Can we all take a moment of silence! The drop waist. The cross embellishment. I cannot take it!
The pockets on this dress slay me! My sister would murder this look.
This blouse is gorgeous. Look at the gathering on the wrists!
I love this suit. Lize would murder it with her teensy little size 00 body!
I normally NEVER go for wild prints or colorful pieces like this, but this looks so fun! I love it!
I have no words for this dress. The pockets are so genius. It is so victorian. I would love this to be my dress rehearsal dress for my wedding!
Such a beautiful basic white dress for every woman. Simple yet gorgeous.
The collar of this dress is the most unique thing I have seen in a while. So Karl!
So mermaid-esque. I love the tulle hem and the mesh at the top is so classy!

Chanel Attendees:

Can we just start with this photo of Alexa, Poppy Delevigne, and Laura Bailey. These three girls are my top faves out of all young starlets right now. Poppy is killing it everywhere she goes. She was at The Soho House last time I was there and I have to admit she is killer chic in person too. I have a mad girl crush on her. They are even more disgusting all together like this. I can't deal with them. (Lize and I say "disgusting" for things that are insanely gorgeous to us, don't get confused, ha.)
This dress is to die for. I feel like I would have worn it to a piano recital when I was like 6. I am obsessed. Alexa can do no wrong. Lize and I used to pretend we didn't like her, but then we came to our senses and realized we were just being jealous of her wardrobe. Bahaha. We have loved her for years now. She's such a button.
Ok, I was literally driving down Rodeo three days ago and saw this ensemble on the mannequin in the window and thought to myself "Ok, you would have to be like six feet tall to wear that, ugh, it's sick." And here Poppy is pulling it off effortlessly without looking trashy! I love how she knew to pair it with flats with those long legs of hers. If she had put heels on with this look, it would have TOTALLY ruined it for me. I love that she has class and restraint even though her body is perfection. That is a rarity.
Clemence Posey = Perfection in this dress. It is so fitting for a blonde. I love that she has her hair pulled back into a simple bun. Ugh, I just adore her. I really do. I already did a style icon post on her ages ago, but maybe I'll do another just cause I love her so much!
Caroline Sieber donning a more like ladylike choice. I like it!!! This lace number is darling! Hate those shoes though.
Wooooah, is that...? No. Ok, but that is hella short. Not into this. Errr...
Again. The killer threesome. I love how stoic they all look. I bet they're so fun together. I live for this.
Boo. Rachel looks so shleppy!!! This is such a bad look!? Brush your hair at least? Agh!
Vanessa Paradis is the epitome of mysteriously chic to me. I love her. This is a rad piece on her.
Gorgeous. They are weirdly reminding me of MKA here. British version. Bahaha.

Chanel Resort Dinner Party at Hotel du Cap hosted by Karl Lagerfeld:

Table setting. So cute.
Ha! Precious.
He is so in love with her!
Fun party pics. Clemence being silly.
Alexa and Poppy hogging all the cute boys. DUH.
 Blake looking almost bridal.
Love Vanessa in these colors. Oh and the curls? How sweet does she look?
Agggghhhhh, both not looking fab. One totally underdressed and one totally overdressed. I mean, girls... come on!
They could learn a thing or two about appropriateness from Alexa. Look at how elegant this dress is! And those flats! Ugh, to die for! Young girls need to learn that you don't need to rely on 5 inch heels for confidence every time you go to an event!!!
 Poppy dancing. Hi, cheekbones.
Clemence Posey looking darling as usual. Ha, I love her face. Marine Vacth looks totally out of it but insanely gorgeous and natural as always.
Best buddies. Omg, they are so cute. Look at Alexa's face. Bahahha. I can't stop laughing!

Fashion Event of the Week: Tribeca Film Festival's Chanel Artists Dinner

This past Monday celebrated the 6th annual dinner for The Tribeca Film Festival Artists hosted by Chanel. The festival was founded by Robert De Niro and the dinner honored all of the artists who contributed their work to the film makers in the festival. Translation... for us... total fashion eye candy with some of our favorite style icons donning head to toe Chanel. What could be better next to the CFDA awards? It was really hard for me to pick my top looks, seeing as Lize and I have had a long love affair with everything Chanel! I have also gone back and selected my favorite looks from past years as well! Hope you enjoy. Let me know which one is your favorite so that we can be green with envy together. ;)

X. Jewls

Chloe Sevigny takes the cake with this stunning dress. This is absolutely my favorite look of the night.
Could you just die over the back of this dress?
Rose Byrne. This is my second favorite dress. Look at the straps!!!
Naomi Watts looking darling and ladylike as usual. Those shoes are killer.
Zoe Kravitz staying true to her rocker vibe. Those pants are unreal with that top. She is always so effortless. Just like her Daddy.
Harley Viera-Newton. I gasped when I clicked to this dress. I love that she paired it with boots. Exactly what I would have done!
Lauren Hutton looking stylishly regal as always. She is such an icon.
Jen Brill. The hem line of this dress is so exquisite.
Julia Restoin-Roitfeld. Perfection all the way down to that piece of hair being blown beautifully in her face. This is such a classy look.
Rose Byrne, Harley Viera-Newton, and Zoe Kravitz all looking equally chic.
Vanessa Traina and Danielle Steele looking adorable together. God, what a fashionable family of women. What I would give to spend a day in their closets.

Past Years Events:

Blake Lively. Ok, I would literally sell everything I own in exchange for this dress. Isn't it unbelievable? The little ruffles on the hem? It literally depresses me that I don't own this piece. I love that it is made from such a sexy material, yet has such a baby doll look to it. This dress was made for me! She wore it back in 08'. I wonder if I could somehow get my hands on it?!
MK killing it as usual. No explanation needed here. Worship her.
Caroline Sieber. I want to get married in this dress. Oh. My. Lord. GORGEOUS!

Diane Kruger donning a more Victorian look. She can do no wrong in my book. She is a genius. No stylist for this one. She proudly does it ALL herself.
Selma Blair and Kristen Bell looking so cute holding hands. I love how completely different they look. It reminds me of Liza and I dress when we are together. We are polar opposites, but you will always see glimpses of similarities in the way we style our emsembles. In this case, I would be Selma and Lize would definitely be rocking that dress Kristen has on.
Debra Messing. Can we talk about the collar on this dress? Oh, Karl... you slay me.

Fashion Event: Lucky Shops

Last year Lucky Magazine launched Lucky Shops and hosted more than 60 designers at their massive event in NYC. Who says New York City gets to have all the best fashion events? Well, this year Lucky Shops decided to pay my city a visit. Hooray! Sunny Los Angeles got to have a go at Lucky Shops yesterday and they definitely did not disappoint. I popped into Siren Studios around the corner from my house here in Hollywood to see tons of fabulous designer booths, both high end and local. Most prices were slashed to 40-70% off. Let's just say it was REALLY hard to keep my credit card in my pants. I was incredibly controlled!

My one and only purchase was at Luv Aj's pop up booth.  I have adored the jewelry of 23 year old designer, Amanda Thomas, since she started. I got to chat with her for a while and trade stories on how we are both addicted to studded shoes. I grabbed her Spike ID Bracelet (pictured below) and the Spike Knucklebuster Ring. They haven't come off my body since yesterday. I'm a tad obsessed. To see more of her rad designs, go to her website, LuvAj.com.  All in all, I would say the event was pretty fantastic! Well, I'm off to snuggle on the couch with John and the kitties for a while. I need to decide if I am going out tonight or not! Ahhh... to get dressed or to stay in my pajamas! Decisions, decisions. Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend! Kisses!

A shot from the side of Siren Studios from the valet. I had to dump my car somewhere and I was way too lazy to find a meter on Sunset Blvd! Ugh!
"Your child calls the nanny mom". Incredible. I died laughing when I saw this.
Genetic Denim, DL1961, James Jeans, Joe's Jeans, AG. Take your pick. It was like a candy store.
Local handbag and clutch designer, Clare Vivier, had a little pop up booth. Her bags literally feel like Bottega Veneta. Soft like butter. See more of her darling designs here, SeeVivier.com. These were really hard to resist. I wanted five of them!
Cosabella lingerie. I mean..... I wanted to take all of it home. The colors, so scrumptious, fun and sexy all at the same time! I live for it.
Rebecca Minkoff. Ok, so tell me this doesn't just depress you. I want a closet that looks like this! All of these bags are killer cute. I have a little green one that I carry for nights out all the time.  That little blue one that the girl is checking out is the one I have in green.... but that color blue is to DIE FOR for spring!! Ekkk!

Oh, did I mention they had flowing cocktails and a DJ on their roof? Delicious.
I think I can see my house! Ahhh... gorgeous day.
Havaianas darling little booth complete with fruit!
Shareen Vintage came ready to knock every one on their butts with some amazing little dresses. Their selection never fails me.
This little baby doll dress killed me! How cute is it? I am addicted to baby doll dresses like crack. I have 13920943.
Winter Kate and House of Harlow.
The long dress at the very end was really gorgeous! I gotta give it to Nicole! Bravo!
Truly cute shades and shoes! I had not seen a lot of Nicole's line in person as most of it is sold online on shopbop and revolve clothing, but I was surprised! It really is darling!
 Luv Aj Jewelry Booth.
I may need to order those spiked cuffs in Amanda's lookbook too. Ah, I just want it all!
The Spike ID Bracelet I couldn't resist snatchin' up!
 Luv Aj designer, Amanda Thomas.
I want to put my groceries in these bags from now on! Bahaha!
 4 floors of great designers.
