Outfit Post: Mom's 60th Surprise Birthday

This past Friday, my sister and I decided to throw a surprise party with my mom's few closest friends for her 60th birthday. She said absolutely NO surprises or anything too extravagant, so we decided on  Bistronomic, a new hot restaurant in the Gold Coast. Let's just say my mom was VERY shocked that we planned this behind her back. She is always the one that knows everything! Haha! All in all, a great night with lots of laughter and love. ;) XO, Liza

Who Says We Can't Wear Boots In The Summer?

With the Ksubi Black Dusty Open Boot, I say we CAN wear boots all through out the summer! I live for super feminine summer ensembles paired with a beat up black boot. These Ksubi's are breathable, check. Sick sick sick looking, check. Would look unreal with cut off shorts, check. Would funk up any little sundress, check. I mean, what is not to love about this boot? Ok, well the price... but for $389, I find these completely worth it and I will wear the daylights out of them! Also, can you imagine how completely rad a colored knee high would look peeking through these little babies? Duh! Adore! I personally love all my short boots and it's always so hard for me to switch completely over to my flats during the summer months. I don't always like looking too girly and miss my boots desperately when trying to achieve an edgier ensemble. These boots have completely solved my problem. They're like a breathable gladiator sandal boot! Haha! I live for it! Ah, what a great find! Hope you're all well. Sadly, I have a terrible cold from work. Boooo. I am off to go rest up some more. I think ordering these boots would make me feel all better. ;)

Stylish Couple Spotlight: Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl

I've felt very lovey all weekend with my man and was thinking to myself... "We haven't done any couple  related posts on the blog".  So I decided to dig around and nominate who I think makes the most stylish young couple out there right now! Olivia Palermo and her model boyfriend, Johannes Huebl, take first place... hands down. They have been dating seriously for three years, done numerous shoots with each other and seem to be attached at the hip! Johannes is classically gorgeous and Olivia is of course becoming a total style icon on her own at the ripe age of 25. A lot of people don't like her for the way she represented herself on "The City", but frankly I don't care. That could have all been editing for all we know, and the girl dresses with more class, grace and swagger than we've seen in a decade. So my hat is off to Olivia. When you put them together it is total magic. They're darling! I have put together my favorite pictures of the two love birds below. Happy Monday, guys. Agh, bring on the coffee! I'm gonna need it!

Lovers.
This Valentino dress would make me smile that big too!
How often do you and your boyfriend BOTH go out of the house wearing blazers? I live for this.
Ok, I love this one. It's so candid. Her smile! Her legs look sick and he looks stunning.
I mean what couple dress like that at their age? She is only 25 and so classy! I love it!
Cuties running around. From the looks of it... they go EVERYWHERE TOGETHER!
This dress murders me. Ugh...
Her trousers rolled, the white shoes, the matching dog, his jacket and red bag! They are too much!
 Beach day!

Love this look for her.
Could he be more adorable?
I love when she looks sleek like this. She has great features for it.
They both look perfect for an autumn day stroll.
Beach kisses.
Casual and preppy together.
This dress is a Kate Moss dress for Topshop! Crazy cute, right?
Hosing her off! Ha, I looooove this photo! This is so John and me.
 Ahh! So sweet!
I love this shot. Just walkin along. Her pants are sick. Want them.
Ohhh love love love... there is nothing better.

Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony Resort 2012

It's no surprise Chloe Sevigny's collections for Opening Ceremony are nothing short of amazing, so we obviously were expecting her resort line to be pretty much adorable. Well, this collection to me is beyond adorable... It's incredible!!! I kind of gasped and started talking outloud to myself when I was going through all of the slides on style.com. I. WANT. IT. ALL! Is that too much to ask? Haha! Take a look below at some of my favorite looks from her show. I am already starting a savings fund for all of these pieces. Good idea right? Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all have an awesome weekend! XO, Liza

Whoa whoa whoa. Who would have thought to pair this gorgeous cut out blouse with those little biker shorts?! Chloe Sevigny of course! She is genius. I'll take both the top and shorts please.
This onesie is sick!
I've been craving a letterman jacket for some time now... I think Chloe read my mind! This one is perfect.
Laser cut out crop top? Check! Bold mini skirt? Check! Kick ass boots! Check! Ugh... Obsessed.
I think I saved the best for last... and Chloe did too, as this dress was the last piece to go down the runway. Wow. It really is unreal. Sexy goddess meets Alice in Wonderland. In love!
Chloe Sevigny herself looking amazing as always... This dress is incredible too.

My New Favorite Color For Summer: MINT

Lately every time I've been lounging in the sun and flipping through my magazines, this "mint" color keeps popping out at me. I am seeing it everywhere. I continue to rummage through my closet because I am craving it on my body, yet it is seemingly absent from my wardrobe? I don't know why. Green is my favorite color. Why don't I own anything in this sweet mint shade? I am determined to do something about it. So I have created two collages including clothing, swimwear, lingerie, and accessories for us to ohh and ahh over together. Hope you're all having a good week. My weekend starts today! Yay! I am excited to lay around with my man and just relax at the beach. Ahh, I love summer... not that it ever really ends here in LA. ;)

One of my favorite looks. I mean, could this be more perfectly darling? I honestly cannot stand it! The socks and the orange sunglasses that pick up the bottom layer of orange on the wedge shoe just nail it home for me. Genius. She's sexy while actually being quite covered. I love when a stylist executes this look.

1. Honeydew Intimates, Bralette $28, Boy Shorts, $15
5. Adam Pleated Shorts, $102 (from $205)
6. Rag and Bone Shirt Jacket, $315 (from $450)

Liza's Best Dressed of the CFDA Awards

The CFDA Awards were the other night and unfortunately I was pretty disappointed with what all of the attendees and nominees were wearing this year. This is THE time for the fashionistas to step it up (besides the MET Gala of course). I was going to do a worst dressed list as well, but ahh... there were just too many that outweighed the best dressed, so here is my little select group of the few that killed it. Hope you all are great! So sorry I have been MIA in blog land. I've been enjoying the gorgeous HOT weather in Chicago! XO, Liza

Kirsten Dunst in Patrick Ervell- Amazing! Like I've said in the past, I'm definitely not a suit kind of gal, but this is just taking chic to another level. I'm not sure how I feel about the big hoop earrings... but I love the sleeked back high bun. Her black heels too are simple enough to not draw attention away from the fabulous blazer.
Shenae Grimes in Rebecca Taylor- Awww how I love Shenae, as well as the other girls from 90210. They are all just gorgeous and absolutely darling. This jumpsuit Ms. Grimes is wearing is beautiful. I love the lace bustier top of it. She looks so elegant and on trend.
Behati Prinsloo in Rebecca Minkoff- Only a model could pull this off, so it makes sense Behati chose to wear this awesome gown. I love the flounce of the little sleeves and the open back.
Erin Fetherston in her own design- The queen of girly fashion herself! This dress Erin is wearing is full of frills and it suits her just perfectly. Loving her new bob too!

Jewls Top Selections From The Best Summer Sales

My head is spinning from how many unbelievably sick sales are going on right now. My usual gamut of subscribed flash auction sale websites such as, Gilt Group, Ideeli, Rue La La, HauteLook, and Billion Dollar Babes keep my eyes glued to my computer screen for several hours a day. I consistently find great things for my house, gifts for everyone in my family, and my man. These flash auction sites are also an absolute life saver during the holiday seasons if you come from a huge family like I do! However, during the summer months, you truly can't beat an awesome sale from some of my favorite sites: Ten Over SixOpening CeremonyMaximilliaBona Drag, Oak NYC, Creatures of Comfort, Gargyle, and La Garconne. It was super hard to narrow it down, but I have selected my one top pick from each of these websites sales below. Let me know which one is your favorite! Aghhh, I am feeling so sluggish today!! Off to go make another shot of espresso. Thank God for the amazing coffee machine at work. Happy Monday, gorgeous loves.

Pick from Bona Drag Sale

Shakuhachi Bandage Off the Shoulder Dress, $228 (from $326). I would normally never wear anything this sexy but I can't keep coming back to this dress! I really think I need this in my wardrobe! I own nothing like this!!! It would be fun to drive my man nuts with this gorgeous piece. ;) Why not, right?
Ah, and our love Bambi just makes it look perfect doesn't she?

Pick from La Garconne Sale

Alexander Wang Quilted Zip Off Sleeve Jacket, $238.50 (from $795). Um, hello best markdown in life?! This jacket is to die for and I have wanted it forever. I must own this. It's so versatile and is absolutely year round!

Perfect for the summer months because you can zip the sleeves right off of this puppy! I would love pairing this with a high waisted skirt and a bandeau bikini top or jean shorts!!!

Pick from Oak Nyc Sale:

Black Drop Crotched Chino Trousers, $39.60 (from $132). Great sale price! And oh so perfect for those lazy days when you want something loose around your waist. I adore these.

LD Tuttle The Helmut Sandal, $279 (from $398). It is no secret that I am an LD Tuttle freak. Known for being very fashion forward, these sandals are definitely a statement in "Lava Red"! They kill me! I know they are still kind of insanely expensive, but I would plunge for these because I would wear them for years and years! My LD Tuttle boots wear out so well and have lasted me ages!

Pick from Gargyle Sale:

Lerario Beatriz Embroidered Top, $150 (from $304). An adorable top to wear from day to night. Good for work or a night out! I am always on the hunt for great tops that will work for any occasion! This one is definitely a keeper!

APC Madras Plaid Bikini, $63 (from $90) So Cute!!! This bikini reminds me so much of the little plaid Steven Alan ruffled boy shorts that Lize and I run around in all the time when we are at home. The print is so darling!!

Opening Ceremony Crochet Ivory Dress, $427 (from $610). I just love how 70's this dress is. The little tassels under the bust?!?! I love it. It would be so perfect over a suit during the summer. I adore the colors, the texture, agh everything about this dress! It's so playful and young while that sheer material gives it a little bit of sex appeal.

Pick from Maximillia Sale:

Illionaire Worshipper Frock, $127 (from $638). OK! I HAVE SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST! 80% OFF GUYS! Look at this beauty. Illionaire is a line that I have loved for ages, but unfortunately it is way beyond my wallet. Naturally, I was thrilled about this piece being slashed down to this price!
