Website Spotlight: Maximillia

I had nightmares about your website last night. I dreamt that I got to wear every single dress that I want off your site, but only for one night. Not totally unlike the story of Cinderella. I woke up thrashing and moaning only to smack my fiance, John, by accident. He rolled over, groaning in fragments ,"What's wrong baby? Bad dream?", but I was too ashamed to tell him I was having nightmares about dresses that I was secretly fantasizing were my own. I cleared my throat and muttered,"I was having terrible dreams about you!", (Liar).  So with that being said, Maximillia... I would appreciate it if you could put up some ugly pieces on your website, so that I could get some restful sleep tonight.

Yours Truly,

Jewls

Ok, no but seriously guys... I am not kidding. I had dreams. Nightmares. Thrashing, childlike, night terrors about these dresses below. After only five hours of sleep, I crawled to my coffee machine, slithered to my couch with my cats in the dark, and dragged all of these images off of Maximillia because I desperately need to commiserate with you guys today!!! Can we please go into detailed discussion with each other about every single one of these pieces? Liza and I have had an ongoing love affair with this site for ages, but only recently have their images become sharable! Finally we can show you all our obsession! This website is run out of Perth, Australia and they for the most part, showcase up-and-coming, young, local designers that are just starting out. Their forte is buying ladylike pieces that are very etherial and feminine, so you can imagine that this website is like a friggin' candy shop for Liza and me. Gahhhhh! Sretsis in particular really gets my heart rate up. Designer and graduate of Parsons, Pim Sikhahuta, launched Sretsis three years ago and continues to grow in LA, NYC, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Australia, and Thailand. This line epitomizes what Liza and I adore about girly little frocks. Ok, let the commiserating commence. I am off to brunch and then I may attempt to take a nap!  Hopefully I won't fall victim to anymore "fashion terrors" while I sleep! Yes, I just made up that term. I sort of live for it. Happy Saturday loves.

Sretsis "Elili" Dress, $525 (Sob, I know). I mean, this is like a modern day sexy Ariel from The Little Mermaid. Someone pinch me. I need this to live.
Sretsis "Holi" Dress, $319. This dress is truly stunning. Ohhh, my soul is in pain!
Sretsis "Polka Dots and Moonbeams" Dress, $528. Well, anything that has polka dots and moonbeams in the title is sort of an immediate sell to Lize and me. Come on! Look at this little darling! The puff sleeves? The sea shells? The print? Oh my Lord... stop it.

Sretsis "Shameena" Dress, $436. I have no words for this one. I am taking off my Lanvin eyeglasses to wipe tears. Too beautiful.
Sretsis "Gagana Flounce" Dress, $495. This one truly murders me. Can you imagine this little love with low lace socks folded over and white saddle shoes? I have to stop myself from imagining all the ways I would wear this piece because I am getting an anxiety attack.
Karen Walker "Floral Split Front Frill" Dress, $500. A wedding, a baby shower, a tea party, a luncheon, to go meet the boyfriends parents... where would we not wear this dress is the question? There is no excuse for me not to order this right now.
Ellery "Lafayette Amour Sleeve" Dress, $705 (ouch) But we can stare in awe, right?
Ellery "Marat Gathered Yoke" Dress, $750. Beautiful. Perfect. Simple, yet so different in construction. I love this piece. Ellery is so incredible at making basics special.... and I want to rip that belt right off her teensy little waist! WANT!
Stolen Girlfriends Club "White Puff Daddy" Shirt Dress, $295. I would wear the living daylights out of this dress. This price point isn't as scary!

Sretsis "Silver Heart" Dress, $250. Lastly, a little Stretis on sale... Hey, that's better!

Jewls Spring Wish List from Bonadrag.com

With spring in full swing, online shopping is getting insanely hard to resist. I have been "attempting" to save my money lately and bonadrag.com is making it so hard for me! I literally could buy everything off of that site right now. It's pretty much Liza's and my first web stop for all things fashion. Being one of the most versatile sites for cult fashionistas, it's easy to find designers that are up-and-coming and still a little under the radar. Bonadrag has the most brilliant mix of everything. Discovering a couple of new items this morning sent me over the edge, so I decided to commiserate with you guys by creating a wish list.  This way we can "oohh" and "ahh" over each item with each other! My misery needs company! Well, I am off to shlep around in the hills on this rainy day in LA! Hope you're all having a wonderful Monday!

Shakuhachi Black Lace Tiered Maxi Dress, $286. Um, I might be me more obsessed just because Bambi is wearing this dress and I love her, but honestly this dress is so sexy and fun for spring/summer. It could go from day to night so effortlessly. I must scoop this!
I LOVE THE BODICE!!! Can't take it.
I love that it just shows tiny peeks of the leg. Not too revealing. Definitely very me.
AESA Brass Riband Ribbon Ring, $280. I would wear this ring everyday with everything. End of story. It's sick. Such a gorgeous take on the knuckle ring. I have thousands and now I want to throw them all out and just own this one!!!
Maniamania afterlife earrings, $190. I love how these earrings are brass and silver. It would allow me to wear them with pretty much everything in my wardrobe. I also adore how organic the stone is. I must accrue these at some point this season. Gah, this list hurts!
Pamela Love Dagger Rosary Necklace, $207. OK, a little morbid maybe, but I live for this piece. Pamela Love kills me every time and I have wanted this necklace forever. I would layer it with everything. I would just have to try not to stab myself!!!
Maniamania Bronze Perception Eye Ring, $280. Alright, I know I have linked up a lot of jewelry here... but those of you who know me, know that I layer and stack looooads of jewelry all over myself. Ha! So a girls gotta keep her collection goin'! This ring though I must say is at the top of my very long accessory "must have" list right now. Look at it! Look at the engravings! The stone! Omg, I can't get enough! I will own this gorgeous ring shortly!
Osborn Floral Velvet Booties, $106. These are the cutest things I have ever seen. I have had a serious love affair going on with all shoes by Osborn for a while now. See my old post on the background of Osborn shoes and other adorable patterns here. With floral taking over this season in combination with not wanting to let go of my "crushed velvet fever", I don't think I could have dreamed up a more adorable daytime shoe. With tights, a skirt, and a little silk blouse with a peter pan collar? Omg, stop it. Obsessed.

Website Spotlight: Boutiques.Com

I am always all for discovering new fashion sites, whether it be ones like Polyvore where you can put outfits together or ones like Fashionista.com that explore all aspects of the fashion world. Boutiques.com, which launched this past November, is a brand new site made by Google that allows you to create your own "boutique", based on styles you like, as well as silhouettes, colors, etc. Now that I think of it, it's kind of like the Pandora of fashion! Once you pick your style preferences, Boutiques.com breaks it down and shows you tons of different options that are available for purchase from all your favorite online shopping destinations, whether it be Net-a-porter or Neimans. I highly recommend this site for people that have a hard time finding things they like online.... I, on the other hand, practically know EVERY website that carries my favorite designers/brands, so I don't use it that often. It's definitely fun though to click on what you "love, "hate", and want to add to your personal boutique. Not to mention you are able to browse all the different celebrity boutiques and see what they like! Check out what the site looks like below... And don't forget to "folllow" me if you plan on joining or are already a member on the site! My username is LizaW. Happy Monday everyone! XO, Liza

Black Listed

Web site spotlight: IDONTLIKEMONDAYS.US

I love love love this site. I am in a head to toe black mood today so here is my fantasy outfit. At times it feels so refreshing to just wear all black. It is simple, clean, chic, and with an unexpected silhouette, it has a strange classiness to it... And in a messy, overproduced, provoked, premeditated, miscellaneous outfit trend around us... sometimes it's just nice to go ALL monochromatic! Hope you're all fab and have a good weekend!

Pepper Pistol Tunic. $565. This piece is sick.

Improvd Wool Coat. I want to snatch this for winter. (In LA. Ha, if you can even say that). Whatever, I want this coat. The construction is unreal. $319.

Vibe Johansson Suede Zip Pants. Ok, these... I am in pain about. You can zip and reveal however much suede as you please. These are killer. They are actually shown with the Pepper Pistol Tunic above which I just noticed. I would wear these to death. I need need need these!!!! Such a great basic. $381.

Jeffery Campbell Bal-Nu Flat Boot. I feel like a punky witch would wear these. Ha. Great with jeans, tights and a dress, knee highs and a skirt, thermals and a big fabulous overcoat. Ugh, the possibilities are endless. They would be a surprise pop into any outfit. A definite must have. $229.

Barbara Gongini Fur Bag. Creepy, but amazing. This is a great alternative when you don't want to have to hold a clutch all night long. Such a nice new take on a fur bag. I am into it. $152.

Lady Grey Ring. So me. I want it now. $132.

Barbara Gongini. This ring is made out of recycled rubber. Bahaha! I love it! So fabulous and fun! $77.

Website Spotlight: WOMEN.FASHIONBEANS.COM

FASHIONBEANS is in a way, the UK's "Who What Wear". It is a fashion blog that covers collections, fashion trends, health and beauty tips, lookbooks, and shopping recommendations. They even have a column for coupon codes for sites all over the UK (super fab). The site is fairly extensive and quite impressive! I went through and gathered a bunch of cute looks for summer. Playsuits, dresses, shorts... ya know, the basics... all for under $150, which is awesome for those "brokey months". Take a peek.

X. Jewls

JIN-JA Lace Petal Dress. I want to wear this with my new Allesandro Dell' Acqua pumps I got for my birthday from my Mom!

Fairground Denim Playsuit (Lize would kill this). A total cute summer throw on with a big straw sunhat, massive vintage Dior shades, and Lanvin flats.

Mango by Lee Jean Youn Paper Bag Shorts. I love these shorts. Hate the top. I'd like to pair it with the creme Rachel Comey crop tank and the Lanvin peach pom pom floral sandals we posted earlier.

Potluck and Walsh Angled Dress. Great for brunches with girlfriends or family dinner nights. A good sweet girl look!

Sugarhill Heart Shorts. Darling. Enough said. I could pair these with ANYTHING. Although, I tend to lean toward pairing high waisted shorts with unitards because it's flattering and makes the waist area look less bulky.

Ted Baker Linen Shorts. I guess I'm feeling kind of preppy with this choice, but these are good for running errands and shopping. They could also be paired with a shredded Obesity and Speed or Raquel Allegra top to be more punky at night.

TFNC Lace Crossover Playsuit. I would love this romper with pumps or beat up boots, loads of jewelry, and my hair up in a wild curly top knot with a crazy headband.

Mango Lace Layered Dress. A very pretty dress. I was wondering if the lace would look cheap for the price, but the quality actually looks great! I definitely want to grab this! It would be very dressy for dinner parties with nice pumps. I would also pair this dress with black ripped tights and boots or high tops and a cropped leather jacket... That way I could carry this look year round.

Website Spotlight: Gargyle.com

Ok, this website is alright, but they certainly seem to have a MONOPOLY on all the Karen Walker specs I have been trying to track down. I need every single one of these. The collection begins this week!!!

X. Jewls

I had not seen these yet. Definitely grabbing these.

I have been trying to find these forever. AMAZING.

Gorgeous.

DARLING!

Website Spotlight: ShopNastyGal.com

Okay, we can't always buy the best of everything or else we would be homeless. Sometimes we have to suck it up, be humble, and go a little more "cheapie" to make rent in time! The tricky part is finding quality and carefully sifting through the trendy stuff and while during our broke months this can be a little depressing... we can look at it this way... how many girls are out there pretending to have loads of money, buying all status symbol clothing but they are really staying up at night freaking out about their credit card statements?

Liza and I try to be diligent about only spending mad cash on the timeless pieces that will never be deemed "fad-ish" and as for the rest of it... We have a good slew of our cheaper spots we hit up. It's honestly taken years for us to get to this point and not be ballistic with our spending, but now we take our time and we have become waaaaaay more innovative with our ensembles.

Here are some good pieces I have searched for to share with you guys off of this site. They also have a whole vintage section which is nice :) All under $80 bucks. Super fab if you need to do holiday shopping on a budget or if you just need to spruce up your wardrobe!
