Born in Germany, Markus moved to England at age 15 to attend the prestigious Westminster University to study fashion. Upon finishing his studies, his collection became so successful that it was immediately picked up by Koh Samui in Thailand. At the ripe age of 17, he launched his eponymous brand in 1998. Updating and reconstructing womenswear basics, he became well known almost immediately with the help of huge fans such as Jade Jagger, Gwen Stefani, and Madonna.
